  1. Each question comes with a short explanation, the answers and explanations are:
C-The independent clause is "Pauline and Bruno have a big argument every summer; the dependent clause is "where they should spend their summer vacation." (The dependent clause is a noun clause, the object of the preposition "over.")
D-There are two independent clauses here -- "Bruno likes the view" and "he enjoys hiking. . ." -- and one dependent clause -- "that he gets . . . ."
C-This sentence comprises one independent clause -- "they keep in constant contact. . ." -- and one dependent clause -- "Although they are 250 miles apart."

  2. So glad I'm not taking advanced English right now. Brains shouldn't have to work that hard in the summer:)

  3. That was so hard! This old geek brain cannot work very well in the heat. I only had two correct answers. By the end of the summer you will be even smarter than you already are!

  4. I only got two right also. I'm glad I'm as smart as Arnon, although I wish it would have been a Grandma quiz like I heard at first, because I would've rocked one of those. . .

  5. Maybe we could start a blog called "Are You as Smart as Your Grammar?" I would also like an update on how Pauline and Bruno are doing... I'm concerned about them....
